Posing as legitimate network marketing companies, they dangled promises of high-paying jobs abroad before trapping victims in a web of exploitation. After a sweeping raid by gendarmerie units, 13 suspects now face justice.
Thirteen individuals linked to a human trafficking and fraudulent recruitment syndicate operating under network marketing banners have been presented to the press by the Deputy Director of the Central Gendarmerie Coordination in Yaoundé. The operation, spearheaded by Atangana Fiacre Kisito, targeted students, unemployed youth, and job seekers with false promises of overseas employment.
The syndicate, which allegedly used names like QNET, IGNITE, and UNIMEC, is believed to have operated across multiple Cameroonian cities. Two key suspects, reportedly hiding in the Congo and Central African Republic, remain at large as investigations continue.
