On Friday, June 26, 2026, a major agro-industrial facility named Denky was inaugurated in Badenkop, Bangou arrondissement, Western Region.

Spearheaded by Cameroonian entrepreneur Lisette Claudia Tame through her company Meta Invest, this project represents a significant milestone in Cameroon’s agricultural transformation strategy. The inauguration ceremony was graced by two key government officials: Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana, Minister of Trade, and Gabriel Mbairobe, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development. Financial backing and technical support were provided by BGFIBank Cameroon.

This initiative is Ms. Tame’s third industrial plant launched in under two years, reflecting her rapid expansion in the agro-processing sector. The Denky facility specializes in transforming locally grown crops including maize, sugarcane, plantains, and potatoes. Beyond production, the project aims to stimulate local employment, curb rural exodus, and enhance the value of Cameroon’s agricultural output while supporting the objectives of the National Development Strategy 30 (SND30).

The state-of-the-art facility boasts an annual processing capacity of 5,200 to 6,000 tons of agricultural products. Built on a three-hectare plot allocated by the government, the project is expected to generate between 350 and 550 direct jobs, contributing significantly to rural economic development.
