Cameroon public service opens 2,305 positions for 2026 recruitment
Cameroon’s government has released a series of decrees opening training competitions, direct competitions, professional competitions and selection tests to fill these positions.
For the 2026 fiscal year, the state of Cameroon’s public service is offering a total of 2,305 positions across various ministries. Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reform Joseph Le initiated the recruitment process on June 4 by publishing participation modalities through 36 decrees announcing the competitions. In the related information note, the minister details the breakdown of available posts.
First, for classic recruitments, 890 slots are available: 470 through direct competitions for civil servants in financial services, agriculture, mining and geology, civil engineering, livestock and marine fisheries, telecommunications, and public health; 100 through training competitions at the National Institute of Youth and Sports (INJS) and National Youth and Sports Centers (CENAJES); 220 through training competitions at the National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM); and 100 through selection tests.
Next, for special recruitments ordered by the President of the Republic in the health and education sectors, 1,200 positions are to be filled: 1,000 for free auditors of ENS and ENSET, and 200 for specialist doctors. This complements 920 additional posts opened in the framework of health personnel recruitments on April 7 and 10, 2026. Regarding free auditors, the minister specifies that at the time of application, each candidate will choose a school where they wish to work and will take the exam in the regional center hosting that school.
Finally, 215 posts are to be filled through professional competitions.
It should be noted that the number of posts for 2026 represents a decrease of 555 compared to the 2025 fiscal year, when the government opened competitions for 2,860 positions.
