Amara Diouf back in training, Fenerbahçe move edges closer

Senegalese football welcomes back one of its brightest prospects. After a lengthy recovery period, Amara Diouf has resumed training with Génération Foot and could soon complete a transfer to Fenerbahçe.

The young forward made a lasting impression during the 2023 U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Algeria, a tournament Sénégal won. Named best player of the competition, he was hailed as a future star of African football.

According to Badara Sarr, the injury has not reduced the player’s potential in any way.

“He is a boy with enormous qualities. He can make a difference on the flanks, create danger and score. His profile is very rare,” Sarr stated.

The former Casa Sports coach is also optimistic about the likely move to Turkey.

“Fenerbahçe represents a big challenge. It’s a demanding environment, but Amara has the mental strength to succeed. He just needs time to get back to his best level.”

When asked whether the young striker can follow in the footsteps of Sadio Mané, Badara Sarr did not hide his confidence:

“He has the potential to build an exceptional career. Today, everything will depend on his ability to stay fit and avoid further physical problems.”
