Young moroccan midfielder prefers PSG over arsenal for potential summer move
The rising star of Moroccan football, Ayyoub Bouaddi, is on the brink of his first FIFA World Cup appearance with the national team. The 18-year-old midfielder, who has spent his formative years at LOSC Lille, is generating significant buzz this transfer season. Despite Lille’s efforts to retain him, multiple top European clubs are circling, with two names dominating the conversation: Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Arsenal.
Lille’s president Olivier Létang recently addressed the situation during a media appearance, confirming that Bouaddi’s contract was extended until 2029. The club remains committed to keeping the young talent, but financial temptations could change that equation. “We’ll discuss it with Ayyoub,” Létang stated, adding, “Those discussions have already taken place.” The president also set a clear valuation: any offer below €50 million would not tempt Lille into parting ways with Bouaddi.
Arsenal joins PSG in the race for Bouaddi’s signature
While PSG has long been linked with the midfielder, Arsenal has now emerged as a serious contender. According to insider reports, the Gunners have maintained contact with Bouaddi’s representatives since early 2025, positioning him as a priority target to bolster their midfield under Mikel Arteta. Though Arsenal has presented an attractive proposal, Bouaddi appears to favor the French capital club for now.
Lille demands a premium price for their prized asset
The London-based club remains optimistic about its chances of luring Bouaddi away from Lille, but the Lille hierarchy has made it abundantly clear that only an exceptional offer would suffice. “We’ve had regular exchanges with Ayyoub,” Létang emphasized. “Our priority is to keep him. However, if an extraordinary financial proposal materializes, we’ll reconsider. Anything under €50 million is simply not enough—it’s far from the amount that would make us consider letting him go.”
