Togolese President Faure Gnassingbé embarked on an official visit to Kampala, Uganda, on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. The esteemed Togolese leader was present at the inauguration ceremony for President Yoweri Museveni, who secured re-election in the general ballot held on January 15.

The momentous ceremony, themed “Safeguarding achievements and advancing qualitatively towards upper-middle-income country status,” drew together numerous African heads of state alongside distinguished delegations from Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

During his visit, President Faure Gnassingbé extended heartfelt congratulations to his Ugandan counterpart, expressing his best wishes for a successful new term in office.
