Everything began when the journalist publicly expressed a wish for Ousmane Sonko to be abducted by armed groups. The statement ignited immediate reactions across social media platforms and in public discourse.

In response to the backlash, Diop Fall issued a public apology video, stating that she deeply regretted her words and acknowledged the gravity of her remarks.

Despite her apology, the prosecutor’s office moved forward with legal proceedings, ordering her appearance before cybersecurity investigators to provide further clarification on the matter.
