Mustapha Ngouana argues Cameroon’s leadership has normalized unkept promises.
During a televised debate on Equinox TV’s Right of Reply program, legal analyst Mustapha Ngouana criticized the persistent failure to honor official commitments in Cameroon.
«The President of the Republic has repeatedly made decisions with deadlines that were never met. Consider the African Cup of Nations: the President promised it would occur on schedule, yet it didn’t. For the 50th anniversary of reunification, he had 50 years to prepare, yet celebrations were postponed from 2011 to 2014,» Ngouana stated during the program.
The debate centered on public trust erosion amid broken promises, a theme Ngouana expanded by highlighting what he described as systemic governance failures.
«I believe the President’s governance is characterized by persistent errors. Our nation is at a standstill. While some refer to it as poor governance, I consider that an understatement—this is outright non-governance. Cameroon is operating on autopilot,» he emphasized.
