Ludovic Megne Ndong installed as new head of Gabon railway regulator

The new president of Gabon’s railway transport regulatory authority (ARTF) officially assumed his role after a handover ceremony held in Owendo, succeeding François Banga Eboumi.

Former housing minister Ludovic Megne Ndong now leads the regulatory council. His mission includes supporting the rollout of new strategic directions for the institution. He specifically expressed his intention to enforce the decree that reorganises ARTF’s operations.

He also plans to increase dialogue with social partners and staff to improve the authority’s efficiency and working conditions. Key priorities include redeploying inspection teams and resuming checks along the Transgabonais railway corridor between Owendo and Franceville.

The ceremony was attended by Minister of Reform and Relations with Institutions François Ndong Obiang, and ARTF Executive Secretary Adrien Moukabi. Megne Ndong’s appointment comes amid ongoing reforms in Gabon’s railway sector.
