Gabon’s anti-corruption progress under un scrutiny in Libreville

Libreville is currently hosting a pivotal three-day session as Gabon undergoes its second-cycle evaluation by the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) peer review mechanism. The assessment, which began on June 29, brings together international experts, national authorities, and key institutions to scrutinize the country’s anti-corruption frameworks and asset recovery systems. Government officials, including Vice President of the Government Hermann Immongault and National Anti-Corruption Commission (CNLCEI) President Nestor Mbou, emphasize the significance of this review in reinforcing the transparency and accountability standards of Gabon’s Fifth Republic.
