Gabon’s ambassador in Tunisia outlines key diplomatic priorities
The newly appointed Ambassador of Gabon to Tunisia, Pierre Ntsiet Ngolo, has laid out his strategic diplomatic roadmap following his accreditation in November 2025. With decades of diplomatic experience, Ambassador Ngolo reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to strengthening bilateral ties between Libreville and Tunis, while ensuring the welfare of Gabonese nationals residing in Tunisia.
Shortly after assuming his post, the ambassador spearheaded initiatives to foster unity within the Gabonese diaspora in Tunisia. Mirroring similar organizations worldwide, two representative bodies were established: the Gabonese Community Council in Tunisia (CG.T.), which unites all Gabonese residents under the principles of solidarity and mutual support, and the Association of Gabonese Students and Interns in Tunisia (AESG.T.), dedicated to supporting the academic community.

« The cohesion and unity of our community have never been more evident than during the first Gabon Cultural Days held in April, where our compatriots came together around the values of solidarity and brotherhood,» Ambassador Ngolo noted with satisfaction.
Strengthening bilateral cooperation
A cornerstone of Gabon-Tunisia relations is academic cooperation, with a significant number of Gabonese students and interns pursuing education in Tunisia. However, many face administrative hurdles, particularly in renewing residence permits due to delays in tuition fee settlements. This has prompted the ambassador to urge families and the National Scholarship Agency of Gabon (ANBG) to expedite financial support to prevent these young citizens from falling foul of Tunisia’s strict immigration policies.
Healthcare collaboration also remains a priority, with Gabon leveraging Tunisia’s advanced medical expertise through a partnership between the National Health Insurance Fund of Gabon (CNAMGS) and Tunisian healthcare providers specializing in medical evacuations.
« Our mission is twofold: to consolidate existing gains and forge new partnerships that align with the development ambitions of both nations. This involves fostering dialogue with institutional partners and prioritizing economic diplomacy, while exploring mutually beneficial sectors where Gabon and Tunisia can co-develop expertise and resources,» the ambassador emphasized.
Economic diplomacy at the forefront
« Tunisia’s economic operators have demonstrated strong interest in Gabon’s market, with promising trade missions paving the way for investment agreements and strategic partnerships,» Ambassador Ngolo highlighted. His tenure has also been marked by the rapid implementation of consular assistance mechanisms to better support Gabonese residents in Tunisia, addressing long-standing concerns over consular neglect.

« The positive response from the community reflects a renewed sense of belonging and support,» he concluded.
