Gabonese vice president delivers message to malagasy counterpart at independence day celebrations

Antananarivo witnessed a grand celebration on Friday, June 26, 2026, marking the 66th anniversary of Madagascar’s independence, declared on the same date in 1960. The official event, highlighted by military and civilian parades, brought together international delegations, including a high-level Gabonese representation. Hermann Immongault, Vice President of Gabon’s government, attended the festivities and was subsequently granted an audience with Madagascar’s President, Michaël Randrianirina.
