DRC Launches Landila, First Citizen-Led Barometer for Government Action Tracking
Landila is the first citizen-led barometer in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) designed to track government actions and promote transparency and accountability.
The platform was launched by Ebuteli Institute on July 9, 2026, with the aim of allowing citizens to monitor the government’s commitments and evaluate their implementation. Landila is an innovative tool that provides citizens with access to information on government policies and their progress.
According to Ithiel Batumike, researcher at Ebuteli Institute, Landila aims to empower citizens to make informed decisions by providing them with accurate information on government actions. The platform will initially focus on six key ministries: Interior, Health, Gender, Mines, and other critical sectors.
‘Landila is an outil de redevabilité politique,’ said Ithiel Batumike. ‘It aims to provide citizens with the information they need to hold their elected representatives accountable.’ The platform will also build on Ebuteli’s existing Talatala tool, which tracks parliamentary activity.
For the Congolese public, who may not be familiar with Ebuteli or its work, the institute plans to launch a series of awareness campaigns to promote Landila and make it accessible to all citizens. The goal is to create a platform that truly serves the needs of the people and promotes good governance in the DRC.
