The Minister of Armies, Issaka Malloua Djamouss, visited Sarh to assess security and champion disarmament efforts. Recent operations have recovered 247 weapons.

General Issaka Malloua Djamouss, the Minister of Armies, Veterans, and War Victims, arrived in Sarh, the provincial capital of Moyen-Chari, on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. His visit marks a pivotal moment for assessing and reinforcing regional security Sahel initiatives.

Upon his arrival at Sarh airport, the Minister was warmly welcomed by Abderaman Ahmat Bargou, the Government Delegate to Moyen-Chari province. Local administrative and military leaders, alongside high-ranking officials from the defense and security forces, were also present to greet him.

The core objective of this significant mission is to engage in crucial discussions with military commanders across the province. The agenda includes a comprehensive evaluation of the prevailing security landscape and a strong push to invigorate ongoing efforts aimed at safeguarding both the populace and their assets.

During the visit, authorities proudly presented the Minister with an impressive cache of 247 weapons. This haul comprises both military-grade firearms and artisanal weapons, all successfully recovered from civilians. These successful disarmament operations were conducted in recent weeks by Chadian defense and security forces, with vital support from the Chad–Central African Republic Joint Force.

Abderaman Ahmat Bargou, the Government Delegate, reiterated the province’s unwavering ambition: to achieve “Zero weapons in civilian hands in 2026 and 2027.” He lauded the dedication and effectiveness of the forces actively participating in this critical disarmament campaign, highlighting its importance for political Sahel stability.

After personally inspecting the substantial quantity of seized weapons, Minister Issaka Malloua Djamouss extended his sincere commendations to the various defense and security forces for their steadfast commitment. He also urged the provincial authorities to maintain their momentum in pursuing actions that guarantee lasting peace and stability throughout Moyen-Chari.

During his stay in Sarh, the Minister is scheduled to hold a series of working sessions with key military and security officials. These meetings will serve to thoroughly evaluate current challenges and to formulate new strategic directives aimed at further strengthening the security framework within the Moyen-Chari province.
