Uk Morocco strategic partnership gains momentum
UK and Morocco strengthen strategic ties with ambitious trade goals
The recent visit to Rabat by UK Minister of State for Trade, Chris Bryant, marked a significant step in strengthening the growing partnership between the United Kingdom and the Kingdom of Morocco, positioning it as a strategic collaboration.
London has identified Morocco as a key gateway to expanding trade opportunities and has set an ambitious target to double the current trade volume of approximately £4.5 billion within the next five to seven years, Bryant announced during his visit.
Following productive discussions with Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Residing Abroad, Nasser Bourita, Bryant emphasized that bilateral trade currently stands at around £4.5 billion. He expressed confidence in doubling this figure over the next half-decade, underscoring the strong economic potential between the two nations.
Bryant also highlighted the UK’s desire to forge a strategic partnership with Morocco to ensure the success of major sporting events, including the 2030 FIFA World Cup. Leading a delegation of over fifty companies specializing in international sports event management, Bryant attended the Morocco-UK Business Forum held on June 2–3, 2026.
Additionally, the two nations are set to convene the fourth session of the UK-Morocco Association Council to further solidify their economic and political ties.
