PSG targets 120m€ winger ahead of 2026 world cup
This summer, Paris Saint-Germain is gearing up for a major overhaul of its squad as the club eyes several strategic reinforcements. At the heart of their ambitions lies the pursuit of a young attacking talent whose performances have already captured global attention. The Parisians have set their sights on Yan Diomandé, the 19-year-old winger from RB Leipzig, who has become the talk of the 2026 World Cup with Côte d’Ivoire.
Luis Enrique takes charge of Diomandé’s recruitment
With Paris Saint-Germain’s management making no secret of their desire to secure Diomandé, head coach Luis Enrique has personally stepped into the transfer negotiations. The Spanish tactician sees the Ivorian sensation as the ideal profile to bolster his attacking lineup, particularly in light of potential departures among current squad members. However, the road to securing Diomandé remains uncertain, as Liverpool has also entered the race with a formidable offer, while RB Leipzig is reportedly demanding a minimum of €120 million for the player’s services.
A high-stakes battle with Liverpool looms
The transfer saga has even spilled into Côte d’Ivoire’s national team dynamics. Following their recent 1-0 victory over Equatorial Guinea, Emerse Faé, the Ivorian coach, addressed the speculation surrounding Diomandé’s future. « Earlier in France, journalists suggested he would join PSG. Now, upon arriving in the United States, others claim he’s heading to Liverpool. We’ll see. I believe he’s fully focused on the World Cup first, and afterward, he’ll make the best decision for his career, » Faé remarked during a post-match press conference.
