A fleet of twenty motorcyclists from Burkina Faso completed a remarkable 3,000-kilometer regional tour on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, returning to Ouagadougou after ten days of adventure. Their journey took them through Burkina Faso, Ghana, Togo, Benin, and Nigeria, blending sport, culture, and road safety advocacy with charitable initiatives.
The expedition kicked off early on August 2 from the capital, with the riders covering nearly 23 hours to reach Accra, Ghana, arriving at 3:30 AM the following day. This first leg set the tone for an intense yet rewarding experience, as the group navigated long stretches while maintaining a spirit of camaraderie.
The Motards du Faso, led by president Abel Aziz Konaté, framed the tour as both a sporting challenge and a mission to strengthen bonds with fellow riders across West Africa. « This regional tour is part of our ongoing commitment to connect with motorcycling communities in neighboring countries, building on the success of our 72 Hours event held in September 2025, » Konaté explained. « We wanted to show that Burkina Faso remains resilient and united, even in difficult times. »
