Chad security forces crack down on criminals in N’Djamena
The National Police of Chad announced the arrest of 29 suspected criminals in N’Djamena following a series of coordinated operations conducted between May 15 and June 1, 2026.
According to Police Chief Mahamat Idriss, a joint task force including intelligence units, public security commissariats, central investigative services, and the Ngueli border police unit successfully dismantled several criminal networks operating in the capital.

The suspects, now in custody, face charges ranging from arms trafficking and conspiracy to aggravated theft, armed robbery, vehicle break-ins, and illegal entry into the country. Their cases have been categorized into four distinct groups based on the nature of their alleged crimes:
- Organized crime and aggravated armed robbery
- Motorcycle theft with accomplices caught in the act
- Electronics, gold, and household goods theft, including computers, phones, and aluminum items
- Vehicle break-ins, some involving suspects apprehended mid-crime
All individuals were processed according to standard legal procedures, with statements recorded and evidence documented before their cases were assigned to specialized judicial units.
