Uber expands services to Agadir and Tangier ahead of 2030 World Cup

In a strategic move to bolster its presence in Morocco, Uber has officially launched its ride-hailing services in Agadir and Tangier. This expansion aligns with the growing demand for reliable transportation as the country gears up for the 2030 FIFA World Cup and aims to attract 26 million visitors annually by the same year.

Already well-established in Casablanca and Rabat, Uber is now extending its reach to these coastal cities, which are key players in Morocco’s thriving tourism sector. With a record 19.8 million tourists welcomed in 2025—a 14% increase from the previous year—and tourism revenue hitting 124 billion Moroccan dirhams in the first 11 months of 2025, the timing couldn’t be better.

The rollout in Agadir and Tangier underscores Uber’s commitment to enhancing traveler experiences by offering seamless, secure, and convenient mobility solutions. Travelers can now book rides through the Uber app, choosing between UberX and UberXL, the same options available in Morocco’s largest cities. The service aims to simplify journeys from airports and hotels to popular attractions, ensuring hassle-free exploration.

Early 2026 data shows promising growth, with 4.3 million visitors recorded in the first quarter—a 7% rise compared to the same period last year. As Morocco positions itself as a top global destination, Uber’s latest expansion is set to play a pivotal role in supporting the country’s tourism ambitions.
