Côte d’Ivoire accolade highlights CNTIG director’s geospatial innovation

The Director-General of the Côte d’Ivoire National Committee for Remote Sensing and Geographical Information (CNTIG), Dr. Edouard Fonh-Gbéi, was honored at the African Economy Builders Gala on Thursday, June 18, 2026, in Abidjan. The recognition, which he dedicates to his dedicated team, serves as both a validation of their collective efforts and an encouragement to push boundaries further in advancing geospatial technologies.

“This award reflects the relentless commitment of a unified team, a shared vision pursued with unwavering conviction, and daily work fueled by genuine passion,” Dr. Fonh-Gbéi explained. He emphasized the trust placed in the CNTIG by organizers and partners who have supported its mission over the years.

Appointed CNTIG leader in 2012 following an international competitive process, Dr. Fonh-Gbéi brings over two decades of global expertise as a geodesy engineer with a doctorate in civil engineering specializing in satellite geodesy. His leadership has positioned the CNTIG as a pivotal force in transforming Côte d’Ivoire’s territorial landscape through digital innovation.

“I accept this honor with deep gratitude, viewing it as a call to greater ambition, heightened rigor, and amplified impact. The most significant achievements lie ahead,” he remarked.

Established in 2006, the African Economy Builders initiative celebrates excellence and merit in entrepreneurship and business across the continent, spotlighting trailblazers who drive economic progress through innovation.
