Burkinabè journalist Sié Frédéric Kambou wins Galian Prize for health reform report

Kambou’s award-winning report, titled “Healthcare in Burkina Faso: Breaking Free from Privilege”, published on December 26, 2025, exposed critical reforms reshaping the public health sector. Through in-depth fieldwork, the piece highlighted the government’s efforts to slash medical examination costs and eliminate deposit fees for dialysis sessions in public hospitals, making essential treatments more accessible to all citizens.
