Legal Representative Responds to Allegations from Léopold Maxime Eko Eko
In a formal right of reply, attorney Mélissa Nyoth, acting on behalf of her client Sani Mouhamadou, categorically denies any mention of Léopold Maxime Eko Eko in a recent press statement issued on August 5, 2026. Below is the full response.

On behalf of Mr. Sani Mouhamadou,
Mr. Sani Mouhamadou expresses profound concern upon reviewing a press release dated August 9, 2026, attributed to the legal representatives of Mr. Léopold Maxime Eko Eko, circulating widely across social media platforms.
The statement claims to address his earlier communication issued on August 5, 2026, in which Mr. Mouhamadou allegedly referenced the Directorate General of External Research (DGRE) among Cameroonian state institutions that had supposedly engaged his “services” and “network” in 2020.
The legal team behind Mr. Eko Eko counters these claims by asserting that:
- Mr. Sani Mouhamadou sought and obtained an audience with Mr. Eko Eko with the intention of offering his services;
- He failed to provide verifiable proof of his qualifications or official credentials;
- The DGRE ultimately declined his technical proposals and severed all contact with him.
Additionally, they argue that Mr. Mouhamadou cannot substantiate any prior request for information or contractual agreement.
In response, Mr. Mouhamadou clarifies that his original press statement was issued solely to correct misinformation and protect his professional reputation following the circulation of videos on July 24 and 25, 2026. Crucially, he emphasizes that the name of Mr. Léopold Maxime Eko Eko was never mentioned, suggesting the opposing claims may stem from a misunderstanding.
He further asserts that records confirm Mr. Eko Eko reached out to him first via messaging on February 1, 2020, at 7:09 AM, with the message: « XXX… I urgently need your help…XXX ». This initial contact, he states, underscores an undeniable truth: Mr. Eko Eko initiated the exchange, and his expertise—certified by the Institute of Advanced National Defense Studies—remains unassailable.
Upon discovering the disputed document, an informal amicable resolution was attempted to rectify the error, but no corrective action was taken.
While Mr. Mouhamadou maintains respect for Mr. Eko Eko, he asserts his right to defend his honor, reputation, and professional integrity. He formally requests the immediate withdrawal of the contested press release within 48 hours, warning that failure to comply will compel him to present evidence and pursue legal action for defamation.
