Gabon strengthens national security with modern B2 annex inauguration

The Head of State, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, recently presided over the inauguration of a cutting-edge annex building for Gabon’s Directorate General for Counter-Espionage and Military Security (DGCISM), commonly referred to as the « B2 ». This state-of-the-art facility, located in the Bellevue 1 district of Libreville’s 3rd arrondissement, represents a significant leap forward in enhancing the nation’s intelligence and security infrastructure.

Designed to meet the highest standards of confidentiality and operational efficiency, the three-story annex spans 900 square meters and is part of a broader government initiative to modernize public institutions. Its strategic layout ensures seamless internal coordination, with designated floors allocated to judicial investigations, military security, and the Directorate General’s operations.

Revolutionizing security operations in Gabon

During the inauguration ceremony, Colonel Joseph Ondo Be, Director General of the DGCISM, commended the President for this « strategic asset ». He emphasized how the new infrastructure will drastically improve working conditions for intelligence personnel while pledging to uphold stringent management practices. Colonel Be also highlighted future ambitions, including renovations to the main building, upgrades to provincial offices, and fleet modernization.
